Celebrating 50 Years of the Conductor's Institute
Founded in 1976 at West Virginia University, the Conductors Institute began with a vision to create a place where aspiring conductors could refine their craft through hands-on experience, mentorship, and collaboration. Three years later, the Institute moved to South Carolina, where it has continued to thrive for the past 47 years, making it one of the longest-running conductor training programs in the United States.

Over the past half century, many distinguished conductors and composers have shared their artistry and wisdom here shaping a new generation of musical leaders. We are proud to have trained more than 1600 conductors who now work with orchestras, universities, and ensembles around the world.

To mark this milestone, we are launching the 50th Anniversary Scholarship Fund, dedicated to supporting the next generation of deserving conductors.
Your contribution will help us continue this legacy, making high-level training accessible to talented musicians from all backgrounds.

Join us in celebrating fifty years of excellence.
